John Paul II will soon be a Saint. His last days are a lesson for all in dignified suffering. He tried to speak to us up until the last few days of his life. Right now my two choices for the next Pope are Ratzinger of Germany or Schonborn of Austria. I have no leading Italian candidate yet.

The Politics of Death

I am sickened each time I hear Governor Jeb Bush, a member of congress, or some supporter of Terry Schiavo's parents call her "Terry." How dare these political hacks like Tom Delay, Bill Frist, and Jeb Bush call her by her first name as if they are a friend. The politcs of death is a curious river. It can flow quickly or slowly but it always moves along without concern to where it goes. Progressive politics is needed to put the political scoundrels out of office when they dare invade our bedooms. Notice what the right has done led by Herr Delay and Herr Frist. If you disagree with the war in Iraq you are not patriotic according to them. Now, if you oppose their position on the Schiavo case (I don't know her and will not call her Terry) you are a murderer.
It is time to call these politicians out and rip their masks off. Sadly, it took a case like the Schiavo case to do this.

Clowns to the Left of Me and Jokers to the Right

Jeb Bush and the U.S. Congress have joined forces to continue playing games with the lives of Americans. Jeb Bush is making political waves over the Terry Schiavo issue as an attempt to start his campaign for president in 2008. During a press conference today he was confused over questions about his own initiatives. After saying a doctor had claimed Schiavo was not in a vegetative state, Bush could not defend a law he was seeking approval for that dealt with people in a vegetative state. Send in the clowns! Congress continues to stick their noses in our lives for political gain. Tom Delay was heard on tape telling a crowd he was about to go out and say that three U.S. Senators were voting to kill Terry Schiavo. Delay must resign now. We still have Dr. Bill Frist making a diagnosis from a video and the Democrats are too afraid to address the issue. I do think it is wise of the Democrats to avoid the politics but they must speak out in unity for the dignity of life ending decisions and the rule of law. Gov. Jeb Bush, who should have been arrested for his role in the illegal election of 2000, once again seems to love to flout the law and any court that dare disagree.
Republican Chris Shays of Conn. is a voice or reason in this case. He correctly notes that republicans are for state rights when it "suits" them. Think why these people want to keep Terry Schiavo alive? She is a good issue for them. That is not my idea. Those are the ideas of Tom Delay. Shame on them. Clowns to the left of me, Jeb Bush, and the U.S. Congress: Jokers to the right of me, Bill Frist and the people who want to keep Terry Schiavo alive under the guise of concern. Oh and by the way, shame on the congressman who took to the floor of the House and could not even pronounce the name of Terry Schiavo.
As you watch this case listen to the propaganda. A woman with a liquified cerebral cortex, talking and laughing is the latest line from the religious right. Shame on you all.

Bill Clinton's Biggest Mistake

The biggest mistake Bill Clinton ever made was on election night 2000. With clear evidence of election tampering in Florida, President Clinton should have taken the following actions:

1. Federalize the national guard and send in federal marshalls to secure voting locations and ballots in disputed areas

2. Order the arrest of Secretary of Sate Katherine Harris

3. Order the arrest and or detention of Gov. Jeb Bush

4. Order the arrest of Tom Delay for interfering in the election and inciting violence

*What happened in this nation in 2000 was a crime and we let them get away with it.

Tom Delay and Bill Frist Must Resign

Tom Delay (R) Texas- is requested to resign his office. Delay got on the floor of the House to hint that those against the so called "Palm Sunday Compromise" were killing Terry Schiavo. Where was Delay when a 6 month old baby in Texas had his life preserving means taken away against the wishes of his mother? Under the law signed by then Gov. George Bush, hospitals can "kill" people if they cannot afford to pay. Well, it is comforting to know the compassionate conservatives are so interested in the "sanctity of life." What a bunch of dishonest people!
Shame on them all! Senator Frist has been an equal partner in this political lynching of the American people. Frist (R) Tennessee -is also called on to resign. Both members of congress have failed to uphold their oaths of office. It was interesting to hear Frist talk as a doctor when he has not seen the patient. Is this the kind of man we want working on health care? Keep the congress out of our bedrooms and end of life decisions. How dare they step into our lives like this. Shame on anyone in any party that supported this illegal law. Shame on the leadership who, in this case, failed. Harry Reid and Nancy Pellosi are next on the resignation list if they fail to speak up on the "Palm Sunday Massacre." When the two main parties are not responsive to the people, we must progress to a progressive vision.

Immigration Mess Grows Daily

A few months ago Pat Buchanan said that President Bush had failed to uphold his oath of office by not defending our borders. I do not often agree with Mr. Buchanan but he is right this time. In fact, most of congress has failed in the same way. Mr Buchanan is my pick for a new sub-cabinet office of Immigration and Border Security. Neither party has led on this issue and they should be ashamed. I am not sure about what part of "illegal" most members of congress fail to grasp? Homeland security means nothing until we remove all illegal immigrants from the nation. They may come back in a legal way and we will take them gladly. Do you realize how many billions of dollars are spent yearly on educating illegal immigrants? It is a crime to allow non citizens, not to mention illegals, the same rights as American citizens. You will not hear this from many members of congress. This is the new progressive way to make America strong. You can argue all you want about the contributions of immigrants these days. The question is still the same. "What part of illegal do you not understand?" The rule of law and security trumps the many important contributons of illegals. Well, maybe you disagree? Maybe you want to be compassionate as the next group of dirty bombs are smuggled into the nation?
